Unlike staple fiber nonwovens, it is manufactured by extruding and drawing continuous polyester (PET) filaments into a uniform web, which is then needle-punched to create a dimensionally stable fabric. This continuous filament structure results in a superior strength-to-weight ratio, offering exceptionally high tensile strength, robust puncture and tear resistance, and outstanding abrasion resistance. The PET polymer base provides inherent resistance to UV degradation, chemicals, and biological decay.
